SourcePilot Setup

Step 1 of 6

Welcome! Let’s set up SourcePilot

This takes about five minutes. Nothing on your server changes until you click Install at the end.

Have these ready

  • Your cPanel login: you will read a setup code in File Manager below.
  • A MySQL database, a database user and its password. Create them in cPanel → MySQL Databases (step 2 shows how).
  • The email address and password you want to sign in with.
  • Optional: an email account for alerts, such as alerts@yourdomain.com.

Prove this is your site

So that nobody else can set up SourcePilot on your web address, a setup code was saved in your SourcePilot folder. Only someone with your cPanel login can read it.

  1. In cPanel, open File Manager and go to the folder you extracted SourcePilot into (the one with app, public and vendor).
  2. Open the folder storage, then the folder app.
  3. Right-click installer-code.txt → View and copy the code. It looks like ABCD-EFGH.

Paste the code here, then click Continue.

Check again

Continue unlocks when nothing is marked “Must fix”.

Stuck? The install guide explains every step. To read it: cPanel → File Manager → your SourcePilot folder → docs → right-click DEPLOY_CPANEL.md → View.
